Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Persistent Swelling On Left Side Of Face?
I have a swelling in the left side of my face for the past two weeks, I expected it to develop into something but it didn't on same side I now have a lump at my jaw where it opens and closes, finding it difficult to eat. Healthy otherwise, take a stomach acid table and thyroid tablets every day.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain swelling on the jaw in the region of opening and closing of the jaw can be due causes like dental infection, TMJ disorders, Parotid gland disorders, ear infection leading to swelling in lymph nodes etc..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x Ray, MRI SCAN etc can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
As of now you can take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen and also do cool compresses on the face.. Take a soft diet and take plenty of water and other fluids..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
