What Causes Persistent Swollen Lymph Node Behind Ear Lobe?

I ve had a swollen node just behind left ear lobe for about 4 months+, it s solid, does not move, and about the size of a large marble that goes too deep to feel. Dr wasn t bothered, didn t even examine it. I get fevers on and off along with itching on and off over head shoulders and back. Any advise please

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If there is persisting infection in the surrounding area, then a lymph node can remain but if the associated infection has resolved ,normally the node returns to its normal size after 4 to 6 weeks.

It may be best to be reviewed by your doctor or another doctor. The area can be examined to confirm that it is lymph node.
In addition blood tests such as your full blood count may be needed.

It is possible that the enlargement is not related to any serious problems but the tests would be able to confirm this.

I hope this helps
