What Causes Persistent Tapping Inside Ears?

During the night last night, I awoke to this clicking sound in my right ear. Although not a constant clicking, it is annoying at best, as it has continued on and off throughout the day. I tried cleaning my ears this morning and noticed a tender spot in that same ear. Any suggestions?

Hello,

Persistent tapping in the ear may be due to wax embedded in the middles ear. You are suggested to get clinically examined by an ENT. If wax is detected you will be given an ear drop (Otorex ear drop). Apply it in the affected ear 2-3 drops three times a day. The wax will slowly soften and slowly flow out. Get a follow up ear check up done, if required the ENT will do ear cleaning/washing for you. Do not scratch, pick or touch your ear. If other pathology is detected, your treating doctor will treat accordingly with antibiotics and may recommend audiometry test. Get it done and get treated at the earliest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
