What Causes Persistent Throbbing Pain In The Knees?

i need to know how to treat my knees. for the past three nights, my knees have been throbbing. it is a level 6.5 on my pain chart, but i have a very high tolerance for pain. the pain is under my kneecap and then toward the inside of my leg. it feels like the inside of my knee is tangling itself around everything and becoming a huge knot. this has been keeping me up for hours every night and early morning for the past three days.

Hi,

First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, you need to get X-ray knee done and to have a detailed orthopedician review.

It can be also a baker's cyst and should be ruled out. If X-ray is unremarkable, MRI or CT scan may be needed.

Earlier signs of osteoarthritis can present like this but will be ruled out on Xrays. Meanwhile OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be helpful.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
