What Causes Persistent Vaginal Bleeding After Implanon Insertion?

I have had the implanon in since September 2014. I have had mostly bleeding this entire time probably about 80% since having it, mostly light but i still have to wear a proper pad. Lately it has started to come our brown but its also started to become pretty much black and not watery at all. Its really thick, almost like jelly. I know the brown is probably just old blood but the black stuff is starting to concern me.

Hello,

Bleeding can follow insertion of birth control implant. However, such bleeding usually stops after few days. In case the bleeding does not stop, I suggest you to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment, relevant investigations and thus management.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
