What Causes Persistent Vaginal Bleeding Along With Abdominal Bloating While On Loestrin?

Hi, I was given loestin pill to start last week on monday as my pill before gave me migraines, since Sunday I have had bleeding everyday. I would use a tampon but then a couple of times i stopped bleeding but then few hours later started again. I want to stop mid-cycle as I feel bloated and horrible all the time from bleeding. Is this ok so i can go back to my old pill until I get the coil fitted after my holiday end of september?

Hi

Abdominal bloating and vaginal bleeding are common side effects of hormonal pills.

You can definitely switch over to the old pill. But for the first seven days of starting the old pill,an additional back up contraception such as barrier method should be used.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards
