What Causes Persistent Vaginal Bleeding And Breast Tenderness While On HRT?
Hi, I started bleeding after my Dr. switched me from an estradiol to the estrogen patch (same dosage). I ve been in menopause for 24 years (started at age 31). I ve had a 4 week bout of bleeding, which she treated with halving the dosage of the estrogen patch and the progesterone, which stopped the bleeding for a month. The bleeding has returned, which she treated with doubling the progesterone. This was effective for a week. The bleeding has returned, with breast tenderness and cramps. Any suggestions? Should my Dr. be checking my hormone levels? She did an ultrasound and uterine biopsy and both were normal. Is the patch the best option? I m not thrilled with it. We switched because night sweats had returned on the Estradiol.

* The vaginal bleed and breast tenderness are secondary to hormone imbalance from various reasons as stress, uterine pathology as endometrial hyperplasia or others.
* In our clinic, I recommend a hormone evaluation for further management guidelines.
