What Causes Persistent Watery Eyes?

When I stay home, I don t have a problem with watery eyes, but when I go outside for the first time each day, my eyes start to water (sometimes clear like water, other times clear but sticky). This continues throughout the day regardless of where I go during the day.

Hi,

Since your eyes are watering on outdoor exposure, allergies to external agent e.g pollen are most likely. Tear over-secretion can also be due to dry eye problem which can sometimes cause watery eyes because the eye produces excess tears to combat the irritation and dryness. The commonest cause of dry eye is prolonged exposure to glare like working on a computer screen. Consult an Ophthalmologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
