What Causes Phlegmy Throat Along With Constant Cough?

I have throat crud and a cough. It s been coming on slowly, starting last week. The crud make me lose my voice if I am talking while and then I have a cough tickle. Cough is not constant, feels like it is coming from the base of my throat. I sound very nasal. I never get the flu or colds. I usually get sinus infections. I have no other real symptoms except a splitting headache tonight. Does this sound like an infection.

Hi welcome to the health care magic

Here cough, congestion and voice affection points towards laryngitis like respiratory infection

Your posterior pharynx examination done along with Auscultation also

If Auscultation reveal rhonchi or any abnormal finding than chest x ray done

You might prescribed levofloxacin or Amoxiclav like antibiotic if CBC suggest neutrophilia

For cough Ambroxol syrup prescribed

Take vitamin C lozenges

Steam inhalation and salt water gargle helpful

Avoid excess spicy foods

Consult pulmonologoist or physician for examination

Take care
