What Causes Pimple Like Hard Lump Under Butt Cheek?
i HAVE DEVELOPED, IN THE LAST 4 DAYS OR SO, a pimple-like hard lump under my buttock cheek, it is quite painful to put pressure on it (when I have to sit on it). And it is very painful when i actually press on it. It may(?) have a very small pimple-head on it, but if so, that is very hard to see. Underneath the skin, it is about 3/4 wide, and perhaps 1/4 to 3/8 deep. What is it? Should I go to my internist? Or will it just go away? Or will it get worse?

I have read the query and understand your concern,according to the symptoms and site of the lump its most likely a folliculitis most commonly caused by a bacterial infection.Also contributory factors like poor hygiene,poor nutrition,bathing or swimming in infected water,diabetes and conditions with lower body immunity favor bacterial infection of hair follicles causing folliculitis.
I suggest my patients with similar symptoms to:
1.Have hot compressions of the affected part 3-4 times a day
2.Wear loose clothing
3.Avoid using soap with chemicals at the affected part, you can use any anti-bacterial soap for cleaning the infected part.
4.Topical antibiotic ointment like erythromycin will help in eliminating the infection with an analgesic like tab.ibuprofen for pain relief.
5.In my opinion,it will go away in a week or so by following measures,so right now there is no need to get it examined.
6.Very importantly don't squeeze,rub the infected area which will worsen the infection.
6.Even after this the the lesion is not reduced,I suggest you consult an physician for examination of lesion to rule out any other cause like fungal infection,diabetes.
