What Causes Pimples Around Knee With White Stringy Thing Inside?

I have pimples on & around my knee, they are small bumps with a white like string that can be pulled out leaving a small hole & a red swollen ring. I m aware the most productive thing to do is to consult a dermatologist but any ides would be helpful. Regards

Hi,

After reading your query and analyzing it I can make out that you have the condition known as "Keratosis pilaris".

It is due to the formation of plugs at the hair roots which blocks the normal secretions and therefore causes small bumps over the affected area.

Similar appearance can be found on the elbow joints in many cases. It is a normal process and most often due to the nutritional imbalances. In my patients I suggest them to apply a cream containing mild steroid with salicylic acid at night time.

A tablet containing multivitamin and gamma linoleic acid helps in early recovery.

All the best.
