What Causes Pin Pricking Sensation In The Legs?

Hi. The other day I was doing a yoga meditation class.Whilst sitting in a crossed legged posture, I started getting pins & needles on my legs which travelled up all over my body. Also doing a forward bend this happened again in my legs quite intensely. What could this be? the sensation goes after a few minutes..
