Hello,
The areas that you are experiencing this sensation relate to branches of the
facial nerve. I suspect inflammation is the source of your discomfort. Pressure can be created and disturb your nervous system. This can create this unusual sensation. I recommend that you be up to date with your routine dental exam. You should rule out any possible dental infections that may be causing this discomfort. Do you have any broken teeth or abscesses in your mouth?
Bells palsy is a neurologic condition that can cause similar symptoms. This often occurs on one side of your face. Plan a visit to a
neurologist if you suspect this condition.
Have you tried any medication? Do anti-inflammatory medication such as
Tylenol or
Motrin and or for you any relief? Make sure you have discussed this condition with your regular physician. You should be up to date on an annual physical exam with the routine
blood test to disclose any systemic it regularities. Maintain a proper diet and avoid any vitamin deficiencies. Keep well hydrated as this can also affect your muscles and signs of
dehydration can exhibit a twitching sensation. Rule out basic health concerns and proceed to see a specialist such as a neurologist if your condition persists or worsens. Your
dentist and physician will assist with the diagnosis and referred to specialist as necessary.
Thank you for your inquiry. I hope you find this information useful.
