Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pink Rashes In The Armpits After Using A Tanning Bed?
So I recently started tanning in a bed and I noticed I have been getting these pinkish color marks on my body. Under both of my armpits and on both breast. They don t itch or burn or anything like that I just noticed them a few days ago and wasn t sure what they were.
You may be suffering from tanning bed induced rash. The most common cause of a tanning bed rash is dry skin. If you start your tanning session with dry skin, tanning lamps can zap the moisture from the top layer of your skin. This can cause your skin to rebel with itchy, scaly patches.
Avoid additional tanning until rash subsides, use aloe vera cream locally.
If symptoms don't improve, please consult your dermatologist, he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
