Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi Doctor I have developed a skin condition on my face (cheeks, between the eyebrows & now over my nose) this started off as small patches of pink spots between my eyebrows but now has covered my entire cheek & nose is very pink and perhaps a slightly thicker skin. It is really ugly and stressing me out, I am 54 years old with Type 2 Diabetic (not controlled well) also have High Blood Pressure under control with a tablet, High Cholesterol under control with a tablet & still to determine if I have an ongoing Thyroid issue. I think it is Rosacea but don t know what is the cure or if it is an Organ malfunction, I have visited 2 doctors and both say don t worry it is climatic (we are in Winter) but I have never had this before and don t want to end up with stains on my face. Please advice
Yes, since the Doctors have mentioned this to be due to climatic changes, it is possible that winter has caused changes in the skin, its vasculature as the adaptive manner and thus nothing to worry about. But if the changes are equal bilaterally that means on both sides then this may be related to hormonal changes too. Please discuss this issues with a Dermatologist as he can give a better opinion and obviously the management. It is difficult to comment more as the pictures are not available. You can certainly do the following in such a situation: Save the skin from climatic changes and this may really help. Consult a Dermatologist to get a confirmed diagnosis and get treated accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
