What Causes Pink, Stringy Vaginal Discharge Post A Medical Abortion?
Hi. I had a medical abortion on June 17. I went in for my two week check up on July 5th and they told me everything was successful and I should expect my period in 3-4 week (I believe). Today s date is July 18th and for the last three days I ve been having pink/reddish stringy disgcharge. I thought it was my period but it s been three days and there s been no real flow and I m not having my typical period symptoms (back ache, tender nipples, cramps, etc).
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Delayed infection is very common after abortion. So your current discharge can be due to infection. So better to get done microscopic examination of discharge. It this is normal then no need to worry much. Drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated. Avoid moisture and perspiration in private parts. Keep proper hygiene of private parts. Don't worry, you will get your normal periods soon. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
