What Causes Pink Vaginal Discharge, Cramping And Back Pain After Taking Lo Loestrin?

I have been on Lolo birth control for a year now. I know for a fact that I am not pregnant (blood work was done recently and results were negative). So here is my concern: I have been have light pink/florescent orange blood (I mostly notice once I use the washroom and wipe myself) as well as slight cramping and back pain. Just recently it started to burn (lightly) when I go pee. I do not have a clue as to what it could be and I am frightened. Please help

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Slight spotting and pain are quite common while on contraceptive pills because of its hormonal effects.

As a first line management you can take drugs like mefenemic acid for symptomatic relief.

Uf symptoms persists better to consult a gynaecologist and plan for an ultrasound to rule out conditions like pelvic collection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
