What Causes Pinkish Brown Spotting Instead Of Menstruation?

Hello, Ive got kinda a girl question. I had unprotected sex during almost everyday during my ovulation days. Now it two weeks later and its time for my period and for the past couple of years Ive been very regular. but tody I though I had started but then I stopped for several hours and now its more like spotting and its pink and brown much like the end of my cycle. Could this be implantation bleeding? Is it possible that I could be pregnant. I was on Depro for four years straight in high school and shortly after I was diagnosed with PCOS. I don t wanna get my hopes up but Im wondering whats going on?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

An implantation bleed can present in a manner described by you, and usually lasts for a day or maximum for three days. The bleed is usually very light or pinkish, like you experienced.

But it is also important to note that the condition PCOS can also present with menstrual irregularities and inter-menstrual bleeding as well. So it is important to conduct a home pregnancy test using an early morning urine sample either 2 weeks from the unprotected sexual contact or on or after the second day of a missed period.
