What Causes Pinkish Discharge After Menstrual Cycle?
Hello, Im 29 years old and just ended my cycle eactly 7 days ago on April 27 and last night I started spotting, I notcied after intercourse in which its continued into today. Its VERY LIGHT pinkish and really on when I wipe do I see it. Im not having painful cramps but I can say my stomach doesnt feel noraml. I had unprotected sex April 19 and May 1st my fiance did not pull out becuase we are trying to get pregnant. Could pregnancy be the case or is this just some weird thing going on.
Well, pregnancy could very possibly be a cause. However, spotting after intercourse - some places know as "contact bleeding" can be perfectly normal, but it can also be caused by abnormal cells on your cervix.
This is why it is standard (in Western Europe) to refer to an OBGYN when this happens - this in order to check for cancer or pre-cancerous stages. To summarize, it can be (and most often is) absolutely normal, but it should be investigated further.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Maria Riechel-Sarup, General & Family Physician
