What Causes Pinprick Pain In Breasts And Constant Limb Pain Post Chemotherapy?
I have pin prick pain, very local pain that lasts 30 seconds to maybe 5-10 mins, and a constant limb pain if im active for more then 3 or 4 hours. started right after doing 2 rounds of cemo for 6 breast cancer tumors. was taking tamoxifin at the end of cemo. quit taking it 6 months ago.
The pin prick pain may be neuralgia which is nerve related pain.
Neuralgia is pain due to neuropathy which refers to abnormal structure or function of the nerves.
There are different possible causes but for you, it is possible that it may be related to your treatment, it may be a side effect, you would need to ask your doctor about this possibility.
Other possible causes would be: (a) diabetes (b)vitamin b12 or folate deficiency (c)trauma (d)liver or kidney disease (e)neurlogical conditions such as ms, stroke
There are medications that can help if it is disturbing to you. These can be prescribed by your doctor. Examples include amitriptyline, nortriptyline, tegretol, lyrica, gabapentin
I hope this helps
