What Causes Pins & Needles Sensation In My Hands At Night?

at night, my hands will often get the pins & needles feeling, upon waking. ...but i was seated as passenger in a car today, dozed off, and upon waking, found the same thing going on. so, doesn t seem to be related, necessarily, to lying down. i m 60 yr old, female, & somewhat overweight. this is fairly chronic. the only other time i ve experienced this was when i was pregnant.

Hi.
As per your case history you are having prickly sensations due to vitamin b12 deficiency.
My treatment advice is -
1. Have healthy and nutritious diet rich in green leafy vegetables, milk and pulses.
2. If you are a non-vegetarian then fish and meat are good sources of vitamin b12.
3. Start a vitamin b12 supplement 1500mcg once daily.
4. You can apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
