What Causes Pneumonia After A Cardiac Ablation?

My husband has Chronic Afib. Has recently had an ablation to correct this. He has been on Amiodarone to keep his heart in normal rhythm. After the long procedure of the ablation, he came down with pneumonia. I know is a side effect of the Amindorone. My question is what treatments and or medications can he take that will help and strength his lungs?

General Surgeon 's  Response
The key culprits were admission for heart surgery via the emergency room; a history of lung problems; a long hospital stay before surgery; and low ejection fraction, a measurement of how much blood is pumped out by the heart with each beat. Another well-recognized risk factor for postoperative pneumonia is smoking, although quitting even just a month before surgery can help.To strengthen your lungs, you have to improve two points: your lung volume and the strength of your respiratory muscles. This can be done with supervised exercise.
