What Causes Pneumonia And Nodule On The Neck?

I have double pneumonia and a nodule on the back of my neck. Hx of chronic sinus infections, bronchiectasis, asthma consequent to whooping cough 15 yrs ago. I m F, age 61. Also hx of autoimmune hepatitis (2008-10) - total remission since then, hypothyroidism and misc autoimmune issues in the past. Should I be concerned that this is more than just pneumonia?

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, you should definitely get done detailed investigations for neck swelling as pneumonia does not cause neck swelling.
You should get done
1. Repeat chest x ray to rule out tuberculosis.
2. Ultrasound examination of neck for swelling whether it is enlarged lymphnode or not.
3. Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) for the diagnosis of swelling.
Possibility of tuberculosis should be ruled out as it can cause lymphnode enlargement.
So consult your doctor and discuss all these.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.
