What Causes Poor Memory?

I am a vet, I can only remember combat and very recent events. I have had a couple tbi s. I don t remember growing up or my kids growing up. I don t remember people s names, a lot of times I just talk to them because they know me but I don t know who they are. Any idea why?

* There can be various issues with poor memory, common one being age related cerebral atrophy changes, vitamin B 12 deficiency, poor levels of cerebral neurotransmitters, defects of Hippocampus area of the brain or others.

Kindly consult an expert Neurologist for basic physical evaluation, testing of your memory through various tests and let him or her guide you need of any further work up as MRI brain or else for best future course of action.
