What Causes Poor Sperm Count?

my semen analysis shows - sperm count <1 millions/ml, fructose - present, liquifaction 10min, normal greywhite, few immotile, few sluggish, Excess Pus cells 15-20hpf, rbc Nil, epithelial 2-3 hpf, absent immature germ cells. Very worried, is the Poor Sperm count due to Pus cells? i am 34 yrs, 5.8 ht, 65 kg, no history, no habits.

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

You are suffering from semen infection and low sperm count.

Infection is indicated by the presence of excess pus cells in semen. Normally there shouldn't be any pus cells in semen.
Infection may be due to prostatitis,UTI etc.
You need antibiotics for infection.
You need few more investigations like routine hemogram,Semen culture and sensitivity,RBS,Ultrasound of pelvis should be done.Trans rectal sonography of prostate can be done if needed.
Proper antibiotics should be prescribed after culture and sensitivity report.

Normal sperm county should be at least 20 millions /ml.
You should do exercise and take nutritious food.
You shouldn't wear tight underpants.
Even if low sperm count persists then you may need assisted fertilization techniques like IUI.
