Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Poor Vision, Headache And Diarrhea After Receiving Anti Rabies Shot?
I was bit by a dog last week and received the first rabies shot, I didn t go back for the second due to some unwanted side affects, headache, nausea diarrhea, pain in my neck and now I am having trouble with my vision. Could this be from the vaccination and what should I do? Also, is it too late to go back for the second shot? I should have gotten it 2 days ago. Thank you.
The symptoms you mentioned could be related or not related to the vaccine you received. Rarely such a severe reaction to the vaccine is observed. I would advice you to see your treating doctor and tell him about the symptoms you experienced.
As the vaccine should be taken on time mentioned by your doctor but where the side effects are severe then usually it is stopped and your doctor will guide you on further management regarding rabies prevention.
So visit your doctor and follow his advice on this as stopping it on your own or starting it on your own is not advisable.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Manisha Auradkar,
General & Family Physician
