She cries a lot while passing gas. Doctor has prescribed domstal 30 ml 0.6 ml once a day & junior lanzol 15 mg one tablet once a day. I am highly concern as she is underweight born baby. l am very tense. Please advice
Hello Dear. Do not worry. Some babies will take time for growth. Some babies grow fast and some bit slow. Don't worry. Once u feed the baby put it across your chest and pat on its back to remove burps. Is your milk output adequate? If yes feed the baby every 2 or 3 hours, preferably on demand that is whenever the baby cries. Do not give any other feed other than breast milk for the first 6 months. If your milk output is not adequate you can give cows milk but it should be properly boiled and given in a clean container. For 1 glass of cows milk add one third glass of water (boiled). Because cows milk has more proteins and that will increase the solute load on infant kidneys. Main thing is that see to it that child will not get infections like diarrhoea, respiratory infections etc. Mothers milk is the best food for infant till 6 months. It contains all the necessary nutrients and immunoglobulins that child requires. Hope this answers your question. You can get back to me in case you have any more doubts. Feel free. With regards Dr Sanjay Kini
