What Causes Popping And Clicking Sensation In The Knee?

I heard a small pop in my right knee at work while walking. It didnt bother me immediately, but after taking lunch and sitting when walking after that it was stiff and there was a clicking. It also feels a bit heavy, and the location is the outside, lower part of the right knee.
