Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Popping In The Back Of The Head, Nausea And Sweats Upon Bending The Head?
At times when I put my head back like to put eye drops in a feel a pop in the back of my head. Then I have an acute onset of nausea vomiting, sweating, I can t move without severe nausea and motion sickness. I find my way to bed and fall asleep and things are better when I wake up.
A very common cause of nausea with head tilt in the back is what is called Benign Paroxismal Positional Vertigo (BPPV). This is a benign condition due to some changes in the inner ear that is responsible for the balance and is easily treated with a maneuver that removes particles from one of the structures of the inner ear (Epley maneuver).
Another possible cause is arthritis of the neck. The doctor in this case might need to do some x-rays to diagnose it.
I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
