What Causes Popping Sensation And Pain In The Ribs After A Workout?

10 days ago I was doing leg presses on an incline leg press machine. Inadvertantly let my legs come down too close to my chest and I felt a pop and pain on my left side, near the 2nd/3rd rib. Still painful to the touch and some radiating towards back. Should I be concerned? Cannot take NSAIDS due to ulcers.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be due to minor contusion after the trauma.

As of now, you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like Aceclofenac/Seratiopeptdase for symptomatic relief.

Generally, the symptoms will subside in a couple of days.

If persists you can consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
