What Causes Post Menopausal Stomach Pain And Vaginal Bleeding?
I am a 62 year old women who has gone thru menopause. This weekend I have experienced severe stomach pain and Late Saturday night I started bleeding, really heavy. Sunday the same. Today, Monday, nothing until just now heavy flow pouring out, like I was wetting myself. When I went to the bathroom, there was several black clots and, again, a lot of blood. What is wrong?
Welcome to HCM This is Dr Amit. As You said you are having menopause -- meaning you've gone without a period for more than 1 year means you shouldn't have any menstrual bleeding. Even a little spotting is not normal after menopause. Possible causes can be polyp, endometrial hyperplasia, thinning of endometrium or Endometrial cancer. I will advise you to consult the gynecologist as early as possible He/she can determine the cause of your bleeding by taking your medical history and doing a physical exam and a few tests like Transvaginal ultrasound and/or Endometrial biopsy. Feel free to ask if you have any other doubts Regards
