What Causes Post Nasal Drainage And Hoarsness In Voice?
HI, I ve been experiencing what seems like drainage down my throat for at least a year now. I usually bring up a great deal of phlegm when I clear my throat and spit it out..but there s always more. My voice has also changed and sounds hoarse for the last month or so. Now, my throat feels soar on the right side to right under my collar bone..this just occurred within the last two days.

As per your query you have symptoms of post nasal drainage and hoarseness in a voice which seems to be due to sinusitis, laryngitis due to respiratory tract infection and weak immune system due to various diseases. You should consult ENT specialist so that he can diagnose you properly to find out the exact cause, he can review symptoms and take a physical examination. If the sinusitis is due to a bacterial infection then the doctor can prescribe antibiotics along with antihistamines and decongestants which relieves the symptoms like post nasal drip. Antihistamines are also effective if the causative factor is an allergy. If the mucus is thick you can also use a mucolytic agent like ambroxol to make mucus thin which can be easily removed. Apart from this, you should take steam twice a day which will give relief from congestion, also do warm saline gargles.
