What Causes Post Nasal Drip Along With Vomiting Up Of Blood?

Earlier this week I had a nasty sore throats it s fever. Dr diagnosed as strep. I finished my z pack and am feeling much better. The sore throat persists but I am bothered by very thick post nasal drip. It is uncomfortable in my throat and difficult to bring it up. When I do bring it up, probably 5-8 times daily it appears like a blood clot.. Dark red-blackish and a little smaller than dime sized. Should I be concerned and what can I do to get rid of this? Thanks so much!!

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM,

Understanding your concern .As per your query you have dizziness along with post nasal drip and doctor is nor sure about your problem . Well the symptoms you mention in query occur due to many reasons like low blood sugar and iron level , some medications like anti-seizure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives , ear infection , due to some medication , benign paroxysmal positional vertigo or meniere's disease . Sometimes ear infection occur when infection from upper respiratory track infection , post nasal drip or sinusitis spread through eustachian tube . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order certain tests like CT scan , blood test , rotatory chair test , posturography and examination with otoscope . Doctor may prescribe antiemetic drug , antibiotics at least for 10 days and recommend vestibular therapy . For now do warm saline gargles and take steam twice daily .
