What Causes Posterior Fourchette Fissures After Intercourse?
Hello, a year ago I had a vestibulectomy and I have recently become sexually active again. Since the surgery I seem to get posterior fourchette fissures after sexual intercourse. this never happened prior to the surgery. Would this be related to the surgery? It s worrying me
Vestibulectomy is a gynecological surgical procedure used to treat vestibulodynia, a type of vulvodynia.
Long-term complications related to vestibulectomy include weakness of the anal muscles, cosmetic changes, development of a Bartholin's cyst, a decline in vaginal lubrication.
You must be developing the symptoms due to lack of vaginal lubrication. You can use proper lubricants during intercourse and see if you can overcome the symptoms.
In case it doesn't subside or get better, you need to consult Obstetrician for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
