What Causes Pounding Back And High BP While On Bumetanide?

Doctor I m 67 have been taking Bumetanide .1mg for last 6 weeks works great but does not last 24 hours. I wake up around 3 am with pounding in my back. It s due to high blood pressure. I was thinking of taking, which I was on Diovan 80mg around 8:00 pm to last thru night. Don t want to bother my physician but it sounds like it might work.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I am sorry for the pounding pain in your back. To confirm it is from high blood pressure, I suggest to monitor your blood pressure (BP) and record the results for reference. If BP is higher than 150/90 although taking Bumetanide 1mg, you can take Diovan 80 mg around 8 p.m. At the same time, you should consult with your caring doctor too as might require further investigations and prescription medicines. Take paracetamol plus magnesium and vitamin B complex supplement. Discuss this further with your caring doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
