General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Plan-B taken under 24 hours of unprotected sex is 95% potent. If it is taken under 25-48 hours of unprotected sex then it is said to be 85% effective. Hence, there is always a minor chance of pregnancy even after using emergency contraception.Combined oral pills give a success rate of about 99 percent when used regularly at the same time everyday and also without missing a pill.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
