What Causes Pressure And Burning Pain In Ears?

I have what sounds like water in both of my ears (I have not been swimming in months) and a tight, burning pain in my right ear. This has been an on-going problem now for about three weeks but has also been off and on for about 25 years. Please help before I cut my ears off!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The abnormal sounds in the ear may be tinnitus. Tinnitus is the perception of sound in the ear.

There are different possible causes such as: (1)infection
(2)due to age related hearing loss
(3)excess ear wax
(4)meniere's disease
(5)perforation of the ear drum
(6)trauma
(7)side effect of medication

It may be best to visit an ENT doctor to determine the cause and initiate appropriate treatment.

I hope this helps
