What Causes Pressure And Pain In The Abdomen?

My dad is 87. His blood count has dropped from 12.8, over the past month, today is 10.2. No blood evidence in urine or stool. Says his stomach feels tight. Has been prescribed two version of prilosac, but he has had no acid reflux. He s concerned blood is somehow accumulating in his stomach. Can this happen? He has 1/2 stomach due to ulcer surgeries YEARS ago and no gall bladder.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Consult a gastroenterologist at the earliest and get evaluated. An ultrasound abdomen is required to rule out possible intraabdominal bleeding which can cause similar symptoms and hemoglobin fall.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
