Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Two episodes of chest pressure. Two days later I had an appointment with a cardiologist and an angiogram the next day which showed a little plaque, but no need to use a stent to open blockage. Two more incidents of chest pressure - one five days after angiogram , and another last night (just five days later). Pain is very sever and lasts 2-3 hours before it subsides. I want to know what is causing the pain and what to do to relieve the pain. Have cardiologist appointment day after tomorrow. What could this be if it isn’t my heart. What questions should I ask my cardiologist?
There are several causes of chest pain but here are a few of the most common causes - Angina Heart disease Coronary Artery disease Atherosclerosis High blood pressure Muscle strain Acidity
The gold standard test for detecting heart disease is checking the cardiac troponin levels. When the cardiac troponin levels are raised, it is likely that one has had a heart attack or some heart related incident.
It would be a good idea to get these tests done and to discuss the appropriate tests with your doctor. The doctor would then be able to suggest the next best step, the treatment regimen, exercise, and diet changes.
Along with this, some therapies may be suggested which can help remove clots if needed. Do message me if you have any questions.
I hope this helps. All the best.
