What Causes Pressure And Pain In The Sternum Post A Choleocystectomy?

Hi, I had my gallbladder removed in March of last year and since then I have been experiencing a pressure achy pain in my sternum area. Its not an everyday thing and it is sudden. The pain lingers for at least2-3 mins and It has me leaning over in pain until it subsides. I most recently was prescribed Tylenol with codeine for a boil that was lanced and it seems that when I take that it makes the sternum pain return.

Hi,

Most probably it can be gastritis related pain. As the first line of management you can take antacids like pantoprazole or omeprazole for symptomatic relief.

If the symptoms persist better to consult a physician and get an ultrasound scan done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
