What Causes Pressure In Chest A Week After I Ran?

Hello, I have a quick question. Last tuesday I went to the gym and ran did some walking, speed walking and then running for the first time in years. I only ran for a couple of minutes as my body isn't used to it. Since that work out, almost a week later, I am still experiencing a little pressure in the centre of my chest. On the weekend I had a little burning which has subsided. Should I be concerned or should I go see a Doctor? I am 35, about 175lbs, 5' 11" I also just had my period and have been very tired this past week too.

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, possibility of GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) related symptoms is more.
Your symptoms are more with periods. So possibility of stress related GERD is more.
GERD is due to laxity of gastroesophageal sphincter. Because of this the acid of the stomach tends to come up in the esophagus and cause symptoms of central burning chest pain.
So no need to go to hospital at present, first follow below mentioned things.
1. Avoid stress and tension.
2. Avoid hot and spicy food.
3. Avoid large meals, instead take frequent small meals.
4. Take pantoprazole tablet on empty stomach.
5. Go for walking after meals.
6. Quit smoking and Alcohol if you have these habits.
You will mostly improve with all these in 1-2 weeks. If not Improving then consult doctor.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
