Hi, I have fullness and pressure in my ears--- post nasal drip and a dull headache along with spells of dizziness . I fell like my head is spinning --- it lasts for less than a second but it scares me for I feel I might fall. the doctor says I do not have an ear infection.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of pressure in ears, post nasal drip and mild headache. Well the symptoms you mention in query occur due to many reasons :-
- Ear infection .
- Due to some medication .
-Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo.
- Meniere's disease .
- Low blood sugar and iron level
- Migraine
- Some medications like anti-seizure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives and tranquilizers.

Sometimes ear infection occur when infection from upper respiratory tract infection , post nasal drip or sinusitis spread through eustachian tube . Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order certain tests like CT scan , blood test , rotatory chair test , posturography and examination with otoscope . Doctor may prescribe antiemetic drug , antibiotics (amoxicillin or penicillin ) at least for 10 days and recommend vestibular therapy . For now do warm saline gargles and take steam twice daily .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
