I have no pain in my sinuses but I have had a slight pressure in my right ear only since Feb 25 2011. I have been prescribed Methylprednisolone and nasal decongestions= pills and not much has changed. It only hurts a little when I blow my nose and thereby increase the pressure in the ear. I have an appointment tomorrow with a specialist but would like to get a heads up today. What could it be?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vidya KR's Response
Hello,
It could be middle ear congestion, as ear and nose are connected to each other by a tube, when ever you blow your nose pressure will be transmitted to ear resulting in pain. Could be some collection in middle ear from infection, needs evaluation
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
