Hello,

Your 15 year old is experiencing pain at the top of the head and also the back of the neck. The symptoms are indicative of tension headache and migraine. Tension headaches cause constant pressure or aching around the head also at the back of the head. You may also feel pain in your neck and near the back of your head or temples.

Migraine headaches also cause similar symptoms but are triggered due to light and sound sensitivity, strong smell and dehydration. She should avoid excessive exposure to sunlight and stop skipping meals. You re suggested to get her clinically examined by a GP, if required let X-ray, CT , MRI done to rule out any tumors or other medical condition that can cause the symptoms.

She will be treated accordingly. Get her eye -check up done to detect symptoms due to vision problems, it can be fixed with proper eye glasses (spectacles). Make sure she is well fed & adequately hydrated. She should avoid getting stressed up & take breaks between working in her PC or laptop. At present you can give her acetaminophen, one stat after food to help reduce pain.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
