What Causes Pressure In Head And Forehead While Laying On Stomach?

Hi, roughly from since having my baby about 18 months ago, when I lay on my stomach I get quite a lot of pressure in my head, at my forehead and I get a sensation of hearing blood pulsing around my ears. Sometimes I just can t lay this way it s too uncomfortable. Is this anything? Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think what you are experiencing is due to compression of nerve roots coming out from your spinal cord. Perhaps it might be due to increased pressure of your breasts as they do contain milk after giving birth. However, as this has started since you gave birth to your baby 18 months ago, if I was your caring doctor would advise to get further blood tests to rule out anemia or vitamin D deficiency postpartum. Try not to lay on your stomach. Take paracetamol. If nothing is found then should check your ears with ENT specialist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
