Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have pressure in my ears and they feel like they are inflamed. When I went to the ears nose and throat dr she did not see anything, she did a pressure test an it came out normal. I have been suffering from vertigo and the ear condition for a month. What s going on with me?
I can understand your concern. Sometimes Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) problems are misdiagnosed as ear problem and the problems of TMJ are responsible for vertigo too.
TMJ is a joint that lies near ear and which is responsible for opening and closing of jaws along with side to side movements of the lower jaw. If this joint is inflamed, it causes pressure in the ear and vertigo-like symptoms. The disorder of the TMJ include inflammation of the joint cavity, MPDS, subluxation etc.
Thus, as ENT specialist has cleared you of any problem related to ear, I would advise you to have one consultation with the oral and maxillofacial surgeon for the clinical examination of the joint and further investigations if needed.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
