Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have pressure in the bladder area, feel like I need to go to the bathroom continuously .. the urge is always here... what could it be? Two weeks ago I was on amoxicillin and I did take some yogurt to be sure I wouldn t develop an uti... any idea of what this could be... should I make an appointment with my doctor?
I think your bladder is being constantly irritated by at some gravel if not frank stone per se. Try to see a GP and tell him to request an Intravenous Pyelogram or at least a plain X Ray lower abdomen. You are getting repeated UTIs because of that only. Even if there is some gravel or small stone it will pass out if you keep yourself well hydrated and the urine output is OK. If it's a large one, you have to do surgery. Also for the time being get a prescription of Norfloxacin 500 mg twice a day for 5 days and also a requisition for IV Pyelogram and plain X Ray from GP. Godspeed.
