What Causes Pressure In The Chest And Difficulty In Swallowing?

i experience a feeling of pressure between my chest cavity and abdominal when i lean forward also have some issues swallowing as if something is blocking my throat. have had this for at least 4 years but went for endoscopy and swallow test and nothing showed up. dr. said it was stress related but this is ongoing. could it be a hiatel hernia? when i do ab exercises it really feels like my abdominal is pushing into my chest. on the left side of my chest.

Hi,

The symptoms are more likely suggestive of severe acid reflux. A hiatal hernia is unlikely.

As a first line management, you can take antacids like Pantoprazole or Omeprazole for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist, better to consult a gastroenterologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
