What Causes Pressure In The Head When Diagnosed With Parkinson S Disease?
My husband, age 67 has been on parkinson s meds (carbidopa/levodopa) for 6 years--he takes 4 1/2 pills a day and this is the only pd medicine he takes--used to take mirafex (sp?) but Dr. took him off about a year ago. He says for the past several months he has felt a pressure (like someone is squeezing his neck) and his head (brain) seems to feel pressured and it has gotten worse and the feeling of pressure is constant. He sees hi neurologist in a week - do you have any thoughts on any of this. Patricia Renner, Alexandria, VA
As a first line management you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist, better to consult a neurologist and plan for an MRI brain to rule out possible intracranial (inside the brain) causes.
