getting pain on breast like being pricked with a needle from inside. the pain comes and goes. and it lasts for only 5 mins sometimes, but sometimes it pains for more than 10 mins.. it s not frequent too.. last time I had this pain on 19th of Dec. my menstruation date is 10th. is it due to that or something else?
Hi. I've gone through your query and I can understand your anxiety.
Breast pain during menstrual cycle is called "Cyclical breast pain" , where there is discomfort and lumpiness in breasts few days before periods due to the hormonal changes & the pain relieves once the period starts.
It can also be due to -contraceptive usage. - benign breast condition - previous surgery or injury to the breast - Drug intake ( antidepressant drugs) - Stress and anxiety
As your history says you have pain around the cycle, nothing to worry about it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care.
Regards, Dr. Yogapriya V, General and family physician.
